All About FMS 2011

    FMS Paper analysis over the last 3 years
    The FMS exam is the management entrance exam conducted by New Delhi-based Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University. FMS, set up in 1954, is one of the pioneers of management education in India and its entrance exam is one the oldest one.
    The FMS exam includes Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Language Comprehension, Analytical Ability and Environmental Sensitivity. There were a total of 175 questions in FMS exam in 2009. The duration of the exam was 120 minutes.

    FMS 2010 Analysis
    The FMS 2010 paper was not much surprise in the MBA exam paper but like previous years, the questions were lengthy and tough. Overall, the difficulty level of the MBA exam paper was Moderate.
    The Verbal Ability section consisted mainly of the vocabulary and English usage questions on idiomatic expressions, figures of speech etc.
    This Quantitative Ability section consisted of questions only on Quant and none on Data Interpretation. The questions were on higher math, including maxima-minima, limits, physics oriented mathematical problems and number systems.
    FMS Eligibility
    Candidates applying for admission to the MBA full-time programme must have pursued at least a three year Bachelor's Degree program after 12 years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows:
    -- Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences- 50 per cent
    -- Sciences- 55 per cent
    -- Mathematics or Statistics- 60 per cent
    -- Medicine, Engineering or Technology- 60 per cent/ CGPA of at least six on a scale of 10
    OR
    Post Graduate Degree or IInd Degree examination after 10+2+3 scheme, securing at least 60 per cent marks.
    Relaxation of five per cent marks in the minimum eligibility will be allowed only to candidates of the following categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH/CW).
    Important dates
    Online registration opens on 6th  September 2010 and closes on 15th October 2010  
    FMS Admissions Office will begin dispatching the Entrance Test Admit Cards for MBA (FT) and PhD candidates from the 2nd week of November 2010, and for MBA (PT) and MBA (PT) HCA candidates from the last week of December 2010.
    All candidates applying to any of the FMS programmes are required to send back the acknowledgement form to FMS Office on or before 15th October 2010.

    Admission Test for MBA (PT) and MBA (PT) HCA - 23rd January 2011.
