Once in a B-school Check Either Your Course is Genuine or Not

Dear friends,
Till now all of you must have visited a good number of colleges for getting admission into the PGDM program of these colleges. You might have got a lot number of calls from so many colleges. You might have been noticed that all this colleges boast about their extraordinary education system, placements, and all of these colleges say that, “WE ARE RUNNING COURCES APPROVED BY AICTE. YOU WILL BE GETTING CERTIFICATE OF AICTE. We are affiliated to AICTE.” Colleges also say that, they are offering regular MBA degree to students. The program is INDUSTRY INTIGRATED PROGRAME in most of the cases.

For both the curses you pay a huge sum of money as fee. The average fee for so called AICTE approved PGDM program is Rs.600,000, and for so called REGULAR INDUSTRY INTIGRATED MBA DEGREE is about Rs.5,00,000.

What if you come to know that neither you are going to get any AICTE approved neither certificate nor any regular MBA degree. All you will be getting is a correspondence or distance learning MBA degree. The counselors at these colleges use a web of words to make the candidate confused. The make the student confused rather than making his doubts clear.
Colleges make a commitment to provide AICTE approved certificate to the students. The student get admission spends his precious 2 years, a huge sum of money and gets a MBA certificate at the end. The worst part is that, most of the students never come to know about the truth that they have got a distance learning degree.

Do you know that most of the colleges don’t even renew their AICTE affiliation??

Now, the whole scenario and what these colleges do to rob the students is here:-

All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) controls the number of approved PGDM seats in every complying b-school as it a government body for regulating the quality of Education in India. But in the dense forest of privately-controlled management institutions in India, it is a rampant practice to admit more students than the approved limit.
Fooling students has become the habit of these sub-standard educational institutions.

This is how the racket of these so called colleges, which are nothing more than shops, operates:-
Let’s say, a b-school has 60 seats approved by AICTE. Using that as a marketing-pitch, the B-school will admit many more than 60 students and accommodate them in batches that are named PGDM.
But the reality is that all those seats are affiliated to some local universities or distance-education universities such as Sikkim Manipal University, Madurai Kamraj University, Yashvantrao Chavan University and so on.
Often, the students in these batches will not come to know that they are not in the AICTE-approved batch until they receive their degree at the end of two years. But still they never come to know that they have got distance learning degree as the certificate of both regular as well as distance learning is same.

Let’s do one thing, observe a few private b-schools in your city, and you’ll be shocked with how common this malpractice is.

So now you will be asking, how to know that you have got admission for AICTE approved program or not??

In order to control these malpractices, AICTE has made some rules and regulations for these colleges. But still your awareness plays an important role to save yourself.
AICTE has planned to allot unique Enrollment numbers to every Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM/PGPM/PGDBM, etc) student in every approved Indian business school and put them on its website in a bid to streamline MBA admissions. Please note that it’s a Unique Identification Number project for all MBA students in AICTE-approved b-schools of India. The move would end up curtailing a common type of admissions-related fraud rampant in Indian b-schools, until of course, new loopholes are uncovered.
How could the Enrollment numbers help?
How will you be able to know that you are going to get AICTE approved certificate or not??

We will discuss about it in the next post.
